Sustainability at A. Eberle

Our Vision

“Leading by Example in Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality”

A. Eberle aims to become a carbon-neutral company. In the medium and long term, this will become a prerequisite for all companies in industrialized nations to collectively slow down and halt global human-induced climate change. We aspire to lead the way for other companies, especially SMEs in Germany and Central Europe, by setting a positive example through promoting measures for sustainability and climate protection. In doing so, we contribute our part to preserving our resources and livelihoods for future generations.

Our Motivation: The Path to Carbon Neutrality

A Sustainable Orientation of A. Eberle Brings Both Internal and External Benefits:

  • Reduction of CO₂ emissions
  • Conservation of resources
  • Assuming societal responsibility
  • Setting an example for other companies
  • Fostering a positive and future-oriented work environment

Our Path to Increased Sustainability – Action Plan

Our strategy includes a wide range of measures that we are implementing in parallel:

CO₂ Footprint

In order to assess the current situation, identify potential for CO₂ reduction and make the progress and effectiveness of our actions measurable, we prepare a CO₂ balance sheet for our company in accordance with the GHG Protocol standard.

Since 2023, we have also been a member of the EcoVadis platform, which evaluates companies in terms of ethical criteria and sustainability benchmarks, including CO₂ emissions.

Electricity

We carry out analyses of our energy consumption – using our company’s own PQ-Boxes (mobile network analysers), among other methods – in order to identify “hidden” consumers that offer no productive benefit and initiate appropriate countermeasures.

Since the beginning of 2024, we have been purchasing electricity via a green electricity plan, which in turn will have a positive impact on our carbon footprint.

Resources

Waste sorting, shared disposal containers, sustainable alternatives to paper towels, optimisation of paper/print consumption and packaging materials are just some of the points we implement throughout the company.

Further Aspects and Future Perspectives

There are a number of further measures that are already being implemented or will be launched in the future, e.g:

  • ISO 14001 certification (environmental management system standard)
  • Further reduction of CO₂ emissions by expanding sustainable mobility (including a complete switch to electric mobility company fleets)
  • Further measures to reduce waste and the resources used
  • Regional projects (e.g. expansion of green spaces, insect hotel, etc.)
