It’s All About the Right Voltage

LVRSys®: Low Voltage Regulation System

Summary

Stable voltage quality is becoming increasingly important in modern distribution grids. Due to the growing feed-in of renewable energies such as photovoltaics and wind power, voltage fluctuations are increasingly occurring in the grid. Voltage regulating systems such as Low Voltage Regulators LVRSys® are essential to compensate for these fluctuations.

An LVRSys® ensures reliable voltage stability directly in the low-voltage grid. This prevents overvoltages and undervoltages, which not only improves the grid quality but also prevents damage to sensitive consumer appliances. Especially in times of energy transition, such solutions make an important contribution to grid stability.

The Advantages of Voltage Maintenance With LVRSys®:

  • Economical and time-efficient alternative to pipework expansion
  • Easy to integrate into the network
  • Familiar design thanks to NH safety edges
  • Little or no maintenance required

By using modern voltage regulators, grid operators not only optimise the security of supply, but also increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their grids.

Measuring the Voltage Drop

The voltage drop is the difference between the voltage at the beginning and end of an electrical line. In an electrical network, the voltage can be reduced by the resistance and impedance of the lines, resulting in a lower voltage reaching the consumer than was originally fed in. Find out everything about measurement and calculation in this article!
